Day Three Journal for Tuesday July 14, 2009

Findlay to Norwalk with a stop in Tiffin

Day Three of the Rotary Tour began with an outstanding breakfast with the Findlay Flag City Rotary Club at the Senior Center.

This special meeting turned out to be really special for the hosts because of the huge number of guests and visiting Rotarian's – mostly the tour riders. Take any regular club meeting and throw in 35 visitors and you have something special.

What Exciting Events are Being Planned for Day Three?

Tuesday, July 14 – FindlayTiffinNorwalk – 64 miles. If we’re going to have a good tailwind day, this will be it as our route takes us pretty much straight east. Rumor has it that the new president of the Tiffin Rotary Club will be joining us in Findlay to ride into Tiffin with us. There he intends to preside over his club’s weekly meeting – in a city park of all places. That will be a first for the tour.

The second half of the day we’ll ride easterly into Norwalk, with our last ten or so miles climbing north along a river road that finally takes us into town. We meet our fellow Rotarians at Fisher-Titus Medical Center. Fisher-Titus has been a consistent donor to MESA, giving frequently of equipment that is leaving service in the facility but finding new use in a distant land.
