The MESA Bicycle Ride for MESA has been a popular way to raise funds to support the District 6600 MESA program. It is about time that motorcycle aficionados make their mark by sponsoring special rides to enlarge both the fund-raising and fun-raising aspects of the event!
Motorcyclists will take part in two ways:
1. Saturday, July 9, 2011: Volunteer Rotarian motorcyclists will divide the district into six areas. Delegated groups of motorcyclists will travel to every Rotary Club, not otherwise on the bicycle trips, in their designated areas to solicit and pick up contributions for MESA. In this way, every Rotary Club will be encouraged to participate by obtaining media coverage as the motorcyclists visit their clubs. Local hoopla and participation by Rotary members is encouraged!
2. Sunday, July 10, 2011:
a. Rotarians and non-Rotarians will be enlisted to ride to Findlay where the MESA-FEST will be held in celebration of MESA’s 30 years of service to developing countries. b. The contributions collected on Saturday will be presented to the MESA leadership for use in supporting its programs. All Rotary Clubs will be encouraged to identify both Rotarian and non-Rotarian motorcyclists to participate in and ride to the MESA-FEST in Findlay. The Findlay Rotary Club will sponsor the FEST and will provide food, refreshments, and Rotary Fellowship. It is felt that this event may be a neat way to interest and recruit new members to Rotary! Rotary volunteers will contact every Rotary Club in the District to gain interest in supporting the event by raising local funds which can be presented to the MESA Tour motorcyclists when they visit on Saturday, July 9th. JOIN THE FUN – DO SOMETHING SIGNIFICANT TO HELP MESA ACCOMPLISH ITS GOALS!
